The Samsung Captivate version of AT & T Samsung Galaxy S line of Android smartphones and comes with a whopping 4.0-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen (400 x 800), a 1-GHz processor Hummingbird, and version 2.1 of Google Android operating system.

Other features and functions include TouchWiz user interface, 16GBs of internal storage (expandable via microSD to 32GBs), GSM / GPRS and 3G connectivity (7.2 Mbps), Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth 3.0, a full HTML browser, a 5.0 megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording, and integrated GPS.

Given its association with Android, the Captivate also comes with a range of Google-branded services, like Google Maps, Gmail, Google Calendar, YouTube and Google Talk. It even carries AT&T Address Book, AT&T Navigate and Samsung’s Social Hub platform.

Although a bit more physically imposing than its rival phones like the iPhone 4 (being a little longer and wider than the Apple device), the Captivate provides a lot of push yet smart and a tempting price of $ 200 USD.

Samsung’s latest is now available via AT & T – without the hassle of mail-in rebate.
