With the Live View function, users can see how these adjustments affect the picture before shooting, which is easier to capture the exact mood or atmosphere you want. For the purpose of developing further, users can choose from a total of nine film modes, and adjust contrast, sharpness and saturation levels for each. A custom function allows users to store their favorite settings in memory. In addition, the exposure meter can be displayed in other shooting modes and the correlation between shutter speed and aperture is displayed with color-coded warning that alerts the user when the settings are not in the proper range.
For those users not very comfortable with extensive manual controls and creative, the LUMIX GF1 provides a user friendly environment that can address the comfort level of a beginner, while helping them develop their shooting skills. For example, Panasonic’s new scene mode, peripheral blur, allowing users to take a picture in the foreground is in focus and the background is blurred – or vice versa. This popular effect can be intimidating for a beginner, but in the peripheral blur mode, simply selecting the objects to be blurred and focused on the keyboard of the camera, it is easy for photographers of all levels.

Video recordings, including Panasonic’s OIS active, (Optical Image Stabilization), which helps reduce video blurring due to handshake. In addition, Face Detection automatically detects a face in the frame and adjusts focus, exposure, contrast and skin complexion so it is always nice. Intelligent Exposure continually checks the ambient light level and adjusts the exposure setting to change the conditions to avoid blown highlights and blocked shadows. For photography, the AI system consists of: Face Recognition (up to six faces can be registered), autofocus (AF) tracking, Mega OIS, Intelligent ISO, Intelligent Exposure and Intelligent Scene Selector.
The LUMIX GF1 also comes fully equipped with a built-in flash and a large 3.0-inch Intelligent LCD with wide viewing angle and 460,000 dots of resolution. The LCD offers intelligent automatic control of backlight, which when combined with its high resolution, helps to improve visibility in all lighting environments – in sunny outdoor low-light interior. To further expand the system Lumix G Series, Panasonic Micro Four Thirds digital cameras can be used with Four Thirds interchangeable objectives through an optional mounting adapter DMW-MA1 and the prestigious Leica M / R using lenses from Panasonic DMW-MA2M DMW-MA3R. These adapters give the user access to an unlimited number of properties of the lens.
The LUMIX GF1 sensor technology offers the best of both worlds – superior picture quality of a CCD sensor and low power consumption of a CMOS sensor. Advanced technology makes it possible to read four channels of data simultaneously, helping GF1 LUMIX offers 60 full frames per second time, Live View images, while maintaining fine detail and rich gradation. The GF1 LUMIX Venus Engine HD records stunning high-resolution 12 megapixel images using advanced Live MOS sensor. This circuit sophisticated LSI separates chromatic noise from luminance noise and applies the optimal noise reduction for each, helping to capture beautiful, sharp images even when shooting at high ISO levels.
Contrast AF system adopted in the LUMIX GF1 is not only accurate but also very fast – about 0.3 seconds with the lens LUMIX G H-FS014045. Users can choose from a wide range of AF modes, including multi-area AF with up to 23 focus areas, 1-area AF with a selectable focus area, Face Detection, and AF Tracking. The LUMIX GF1 also has a Quick AF function that begins focusing as soon as the user holds the camera – without pressing the shutter button halfway.

Thus, if the dust gets inside the camera (when changing lenses), dust reduction system Panasonic solves this problem by placing a supersonic wave filter in front of the Live MOS sensor, which vibrates vertically around 50,000 times per second, which repels dust.
The captured content in the LUMIX GF1 can be viewed easily on a Panasonic VIERA (R) HDTV by simply inserting the SD / SDHC SD Memory Card in the Viera / SDHC slot or a Panasonic DIGA Blu-ray Disc Player.
