Leyio quietly intros 8GB device, personal sharing, iPod-friendly PSD

The PSD Leyio ( ’Device Sharing’) range gets a new addition this week, with 99 pounds less than the 8GB model launched just in time for a new iPod-friendly firmware update.
The original 16GB Leyio now costs 129 pounds, and continues to confuse many of us in the TechRadar office.
While some of us have started regularly using the device for sharing data, music and movies with his friends, there is still a ’confused by Leyio quota’, which refuses to accept the PSD is worth its asking price.
iPhone-friendly data sharer
Maybe the next firmware update will add support for easy transfer of files to iPhone and Pod – and lots of other phones and PMP devices – will be the point where the Leyio comes into its own.
You can also take advantage of ultra broadband connection Leyio (UWB), literally browse the files to other users Leyio the air to 10 MB per second.
"A song lasts only a second for transfer via UWB, making Leyio much faster than Bluetooth or Wi-Fi," says the company. "And most of us carry digital data more than ever, from holiday snaps to your documents, Leyio now makes it easier to connect to your favorite gadget – and also those that belong to your friends."
Of course, the only real (and rather large) caveat is that you need to find other users (UWB Leyio namely the owners) to Flick the information to all.
Share your files wherever you are
"In the coming weeks, users will be able to transfer songs directly from their iPhone to their Leyio, simply by using a USB cable, so they can share the information already from their iPod," says Bruno Maurel, CEO of Leyio.
"Leyio is designed to allow you to share files wherever and whenever you choose, if you’re in front of your computer or not. And compatibility with other devices – iPods, digital cameras, mobile phones – Leyio makes sharing on – and off online easier than ever. Furthermore, since Leyio is about accessibility, we introduced a new 8GB model is our even more affordable.
The new model also gets additional support microSD 8GB and this month of October for £ 99.
