Because Apple [AAPL] launched the new iPhone in April there have been numerous reports from users of the reception problems when the iPhone 4 is carried out in a specific way.
First we had a statement from Apple, then an e-mail from Steve Jobs said the iPhone users to hold a different way, and then an email from Steve Jobs, who said that a software solution was on its way.
Now the guys over at BGR have gotten their hands on a copy of Apple’s internal procedures for dealing with customers who are having problems with reception, and is an interesting read.
1. Keep all positioning statements within the practice BN – his tone when the release of this information is important.
2. The iPhone Wireless 4 overall performance is the best we have ever sent. Our tests show that the performance of global iPhone antenna 4 is generally better than the iPhone 3G.
3. Holding almost all mobile phones in certain places lower your reception. This is true from the four iPhone, 3G iPhone, and many other phones we’ve tested. It is a fact of life in the wireless world.
4. If faced with this on your iPhone 3G, stay away from covering the bottom right hand.
5. If they face this on your iPhone in April, covering the strip to prevent black in the lower left corner of the metal band.
6. Using a case or produce bumper rubber or plastic could increase wireless efficiency, keeping your hand straight from the coverage of these areas.
7. Do not perform warranty service. Use the situation on customers for any questions or concerns.
8. Really do not forget you still need to investigate and solve problems. If a customer orders on receipt, while the phone is sitting at a table (not pocket) can not be the metal band.
9. ONLY escalate if the issue exists when the phone is not held AND you cannot resolve it.
10. We are not appease customers free of charge bumper – Do not promise a free bumper customers
So basically is saying that Apple is not a concern, not expecting a lot from Apple support over the phone, you can possibly get more luck taking your iPhone into an Apple store, although I would not count on it .
Furthermore, it appears that some iPhone users are experiencing problems in April, especially in slow browsing via WiFi. We received an e-mail from one of our readers Anthony has proven its iPhone and iPhone 3G four browsing web pages on the same WiFi network itself and its four iPhone is much slower.
Anthony tested his iPhone four in about three or four different WiFi networks and has exactly the same problem, if any of our other readers have had the same problem, leave a comment or send an e-mail.
