BullGuard Mobile Antivirus Review

Although mobile phone viruses are rare, it is still better to be safe than sorry right? After all, everyone has mobile phones today and most of us keep our personal information on our mobile phones, some of us even browse secure Web sites to smartphones so naturally, hackers are looking for phone viruses mobile to travel to obtain personal information.

Just last year, a virus for the iPhone has been found and has infected some phones in the Netherlands. In addition, a few years ago, a virus has ravaged some phones Nokia Bluetooth. Although viruses for Windows Mobile phones have not yet heard, a number of antiviruses are now available for Pocket PC devices. One is BullGuard Mobile Antivirus.

BullGuard is also available for Symbian devices and can try for free for 14 days. I downloaded the file and install on my Samsung B7610. The file is not very large and is best if you download the CAB file, transfer to microSD card and then install it as its faster.

The installation was painless and easy, but then I found a slight bump: You need to register with a BullGuard account to activate the software. You can create an account using your WiFi or 3G network and after that it is also necessary to update the virus definitions.

You can choose which sites to explore. BullGuard lets you choose whether to scan memory, memory cards or databases. Scanning only the phone memory is fast, but it’s another thing for memory cards. Scanning my 4GB memory card took a while. You can also choose to customize your scan so the antivirus scans only specific folders. If a virus is found, you can choose whether the software would not do anything, move it to a quarantine file or delete it.

I can not comment on the effectiveness of BullGuard because I do not have a virus on my mobile phone and rarely use it to surf the mobile Web, but in terms of user interface and the speed with which the scans, the software is good.

In a world of iPhones, I’m sure that users of Windows Mobile are getting less and less, but I know that some companies still prefer Windows Mobile for its employees for their safety. Add a mobile antivirus in the mix and you have super mobile phone insurance.
